Thanks to all who helped make our block party a success!

It was another great event for the Mountain View Neighbourhood, with perfect weather and delicious food supplied by the legendary Memphis Blues eatery, as well as additional supplies from our new local grocery on Fraser Street – No Frills (Thanks, Dean!) and yummy ice cream.
Our committee made up of Sharole, Jackie, Lilli, Pete & Mike would like to thank many others for their participation.
Thank you to Laura, Mark and Yasmine who helped me man the pulled pork station for the day. Thanks to those who stayed behind and helped with the clean up. We left no trace we were there – which is good.
Both our MP Don Davies, and our MLA Mabel Elmore, came out to show support for our neighbourhood and join in the festivities
Fraser Court Seafood Restaurant kindly stopped by with 3 trays of specialty rice and noodles and Clare from Indulgences Desserts dropped off a lovely tray of exquisite sweeties. Thank you to both.
The entertainment provided by the Polynesian dancers and Diego were enthusiastically received. Thanks to Rani Wangsawidjaya and her crew! Big applause also to Lauren Kwan, LedMac's marketing coordinator who came out with the icecream truck!
Kelly Woods from Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House came out to share some fun. Cedar Cottage is a very supportive partner who helps us manage funding for our various projects, including the annual block party.
Two representatives from the South Vancouver Community Policing Centre stopped by to hand out pamphlets and reminders to call in any suspicious activity you see ongoing in the neighbourhood. They are more than willing to add a problem area to their rounds. The Community Policing office number is 604-717-2940.
Finally, special thanks to John Atkin, historian and his wife Robin Naiman from COV Mountain View Cemetery for attending and chatting with folks.
