New housing + storefront planned for 4338 Fraser Street

Proposed storefront for 4338 Fraser Street

There's another development coming to the 4300-block of Fraser Street. You can see architect's drawings, which have NOT YET been approved for development by the City of Vancouver. Click here for the 3-D drawings. The architect was kind enough to share them with us. It's the second 4-storey development on that block and another one with 10 units of housing.

The area between 23rd avenue and 30th avenue on Fraser Street has been moribund for many years. We're seeing a clear shift of interest by property owners to develop this area.

It might be time for neighbours to have a look at what's coming. It's great that old buildings are being replaced, and new life is being injected to the street front. But we must also ask where is the park space, where are the amenities and parking going to come from if several of these properties are built in the same fashion?

NOTE To our email subscribers – sorry about the giant subscriber email yesterday. We just made a bunch of website updates, and the Google email system just took the last 15 posts and resent them in one email.

ANOTHER Note: We posted photos last month from our September pig roast. We received an unhappy email from a subscriber who took offense at images of the cooked pig. We didn't mean to offend anyone by the images, and many attended the pig roast last year. We'll try to take care in future not to post images like these in future.
