Spend Earth Hour with your neighbours!
Mountain View Neighbours,
Let's spend "Earth Hour" under the stars this Saturday evening.
All grown ups and kids are welcome to join us as we light candles and warm up hot chocolate on a camp stove. Bring your own mug so we don't have to use paper cups.
WHERE AND WHEN?
This Saturday evening (March 29th), on the corner of Windsor and East 29th Avenue.
WHAT ON EARTH IS EARTH HOUR?
Earth Hour encourages everyone to turn off lights, computers and any electrical appliances you can do without for one hour, beginning Saturday, March 29th @ 8pm. You can read more about it here at the World Wildlife Federation website:
WHY DO THIS?
Vancouver is being encouraged to participate with other cities and jurisdictions in the Earth Hour initiative.
Rather than sitting in the dark on a Saturday night, those who are interested in recognizing Earth Hour could join a bunch of neighbours on Saturday on a street corner in our neighbourhood, and warm up with hot chocolate and friendly chatter.
Just like last summer's successful Mountain View barbeque, some of the organizers of the Mountain View Neighbourhood Group thought that we might want to hold a few more "spontaneous" events on short notice.
Circulate this message to your neighbours and let them know they are welcome to spend Earth Hour under the stars with others from their community!
