Help Wanted with Research Project!
Project Title: Geography 371 Class Projects:
Perceptions of Safety in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood
Under the direction of Prof. Geraldine Pratt, Department of Geography, University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, and Mr. Christopher Harker, a doctoral student, in the Department of Geography, UBC, Graham Anderson, Jason Lu, Justine Kreuk, Reid Kaufmann, Zuzia Juszkiewicz and Amy Tran are conducting a research project exploring local residents' perceptions of safety as they relate to the residential/business development, the King Edward Village. This research is part of our class project for Geography 371: Research Strategies in Human Geography.
If you are over the age of 19, and are a resident of the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood (an area spanning Broadway to East 41st Avenue and Nanaimo to Fraser Streets) and would be willing to complete a short questionnaire about perceptions of safety in your neighbourhood that will not exceed 15 minutes in length, then we would like to hear from you.
In the event that you choose to participate, a questionnaire will be emailed to you and you will be able to complete it at your convenience. No further participation will be required after the questionnaire has been completed. Questionnaires will ask participants about changes in their neighbourhood, crime, and about King Edward Village itself. Your anonymity is assured at all times.
If you are interested, please email Amy Tran at amytran at interchange.ubc.ca for further information. There will be no obligation to participate unless you want to, and seeking further information will not be taken to indicate willingness to participate.
