Come celebrate the completion of our Fraser Street Banners Project!

Sunday May 27th, 2007 at NOON on the corner of 28th and Fraser

Light refreshments will be served.

Background information:

Our Mountain View Neighbourhood group has had volunteers working hard to beautify our streets since 2001. Our colourful and unique banners have hung on Fraser's street poles and have just been replaced with our second round of banner designs. Part of the beauty of these banners is the commitment by over 60 neighbourhood children and 20 adults to hand paint each one to show a unique vision of community spirit.

This effort has definitely been a joint effort among the community. We would like to thank the following volunteers and sponsors for donating their time and hard work to make this project possible:

Thanks to

  • Anne-Marie Rowley, Big Bold Beautiful Banner Company
  • Khaleda Banu, Donna Chang, Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House
  • Jocelyne Hamel, Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House
  • Rhonda Johnston, ICI Paint
  • Cindy Crapper & Board, Kensington Community Centre
  • Christie Akhurst, Little Mountain Out of School Care
  • Debra Nothstein, Sir Richard McBride School Annex
  • ESSO, Imperial Oil
  • Ken Low, City of Vancouver
  • Juan Solorzano, Parks Board

Special thanks to Yasmine Franchi for her banner design, and to Sharole Tylor and her team of neighbourhood volunteers for making this project happen: Stacey Fruin, Jeannie Kamins, Jackie Larson, Tom Little, Mike Klassen, and Lilli Wong.
