Annual Mountain View KVS a HUGE success!
Phew, talk about a lot of rubbish! 4 sanitation trucks full with each truck holding 16,000# per load and 2 metal bins at 4000# each - yikes.
When Brian of the City says 9 to 12 he means 9 to 12 sharp. We have to keep in mind that there are over 1000 neighbourhoods doing the same thing we are and often times it's on the same day, same times.
With 10 minutes notice we were told that both trucks were leaving at noon.
So the word went out to everyone to start quickly loading the recyclable items from the Church boulevard. This was done really fast, thank goodness.
Thanks to Stan and the church for the use of their corner and the refreshments. Also to Maria.
Thanks to the handful of people who picked up Fraser Street, the two lanes and a few of the avenues.
BIG thanks to Leslie and Bev for their trucks and hard work and their swamp crew.
Dan and Doug the sanitation guys were great as usual.
Thanks to everyone who pitched in for the good of our neighbourhood.
We took in Fraser Street Banner donations of $254.00; that will pay for 3 banners.
We need more donations and we can give you a tax refundable receipt so keep those donations coming in.
Mark your calendars for next year!
